Why Volunteering

While constructing our first bottle school back in 2016, Sofie and Sabina were spending half a year living with a wonderful family in San Juan la Laguna sharing their life-style, experiencing the traditional Guatemalan Culture, waking up with the song of a rooster and cooking (especially tortillas…) over open fire.

For us, staying at a family from the community’s house is a natural part of our volunteering program where our volunteers will encounter an authentic and personalized experience while supporting the local economy. The meeting point between volunteers and the community, creates a beautiful inter-cultural exchange, sharing knowledge and different perspectives of life, environment and self-development. Our hope is that volunteers will leave Guatemala with tools to improve their life-quality and implement sustainable and regenerative life-styles, from the inside-out, while inspiring others to do the same.
