Our program is a community project and an opportunity for those that search for new ways of experiencing life. We see our program as an intercultural place to learn, teach and nurture our personal growth, working in harmony with each other and nature. When our volunteers leave Xenimajuyú, we want them to continue their daily lives with more sustainable life-styles and a greater focus on inner change.
ECOespiral is operating at the crossroad of human rights, the environment and integral development, working, learning and sharing together with the local communities while enjoying the guatemalan highlands, blue skies and a vibrant sun. We design a personalized experience according to each volunteer’s interest, skills and life passion. Our aim is to design a creative experience, where volunteers are involved as much as possible in our current and future projects, while having the freedom to develop your own projects, hand in hand with the ECOespiral team.
As a volunteer you will be working together with us and the communities, and the assignments are varying depending on the projects we are focusing on at the moment. You can find the projects that we are working on now under Projects. One week at Casa San Vicente, in Xenimajuyú, can consist of both teaching in one of our schools, holding kids and youth workshops, helping out constructing our Development Center and new volunteer house using natural building techniques, or working in our permaculture paradise.
If you are up for more, you can also help Marietta taking care of the horses, go for a sunrise ride in the woods or just cuddle with the horses. We have also designed special activities for you to enjoy on your free time, while supporting the local economy, where you can learn about the traditional weaving techniques, share traditional recipes while cooking on open fire, learn the secrets of natural healing, camp in the cloudy forest, visit the Mayan Ruins…and much more!
